Prime minister’s US visit

Letter August 05, 2019
Overall, the prime minister’s US visit was a success

ISLAMABAD: The nation is praising Prime Minister Imran Khan for his successful visit to the United States. During his visit, the prime minister presented Pakistan’s viewpoint very clearly to the US president.

He addressed sensitive issues like the role of Pakistan in the war against terror. He rightly mentioned the number of lives Pakistan has lost in the war on terror.

In a meeting with Imran Khan, Donald Trump claimed that Modi had asked him to mediate the Kashmir issue. The prime minister acknowledged Trump’s offer of mediation saying that Pakistan is more than willing to resolve the dispute or at the least initiate talks.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi rejected the Trump offer saying the Kashmir issue is a bilateral dispute, so there is no need for any third-party mediation. Overall, the prime minister’s US visit was a success.
