This will surely give the perfect pretext to the political opposition for making their move against his government
LAHORE: Undoubtedly, there is an urgent need to resolve the Kashmir dispute through dialogue. But it seems that members of parliament from Prime Minister Modi’s own party are opposed to talks with Pakistan on the Kashmir issue. Then why would the Indian prime minister risk his position by going against the majority? On the other hand, Prime Minister Imran Khan is already facing issues of political stability at the provincial and federal levels. This will surely give the perfect pretext to the political opposition for making their move against his government.
The White House has firmly defended Donald Trump’s statement as regards Modi asking the US to mediate on the long persisting dispute. The US president seems to be unaware of the power of his words. His offer to play the role of mediator is not being appreciated by Indian politicians. Both countries have tried many times to come up with a viable resolution of the Kashmir issue but to no avail.
Let the world listen to the cries of the oppressed Kashmiris. Let there be a worldwide poll. Why can’t we open up arguments on all public forums? It is only fair that the world contributes to the resolution of this dispute.
The Indian media is in the habit of giving spin to news from Kashmir and other disturbed areas of their country. We all should work together to make the world a peaceful place. No one should be excluded from happiness. The world needs to be made inclusive.
