Pakistan may soon get its wish of an Isaf-free Afghanistan, or at least one with limited foreign presence.
LONDON: This is with reference to Najmuddin Sheikh’s article of July 2 titled “The Kabul meetings”. It seems pretty much that we have lucked out. America isn’t paying up, the Afghans aren’t happy, the Taliban aren’t happy, cross-border raids are continuing, and people in several countries that send their troops to join Isaf want their soldiers to pull out of Afghanistan as quickly as possible so that governments can focus on economic recovery at home. Pakistan may soon get its wish of an Isaf-free Afghanistan, or at least one with limited foreign presence. And what happens then?
