Travellers often face difficulties as the bridge is damaged in the middle
TURBAT: The Shiwani Bridge is located at a distance of approximately 10 kilometres to the north of Turbat. The highway is part of the CPEC road network and connects several areas such as Panjgur, Quetta, and Karachi. Unfortunately, travellers often face difficulties as the bridge is damaged in the middle.
The bridge has numerous cracks which endanger the vehicles passing through it. People often cover up the damaged areas with stones in order to reduce accidents. However, this does not always work as a number of accidents have occurred.
Recently, a car was passing through the bridge at night, and the driver was unable to control the car which crashed at the damaged part of the bridge, injuring the passengers.
Besides this, another motorist met with an accident and was admitted to a hospital in Karachi. I urge the government and the highway authorities to repair this bridge to prevent further accidents.
