Public transport

Letter June 20, 2019
I hope our public transport can be fixed

KARACHI: As a student in Karachi, I use public transport on a daily basis. However, the lack of rules and regulations and a set timetable for public buses cause many disturbances in my routine. At times, buses are driven at a very high speed, and sometimes we have to wait for hours at a stop for another bus because the scheduled bus is late.

Moreover, there are no seats available for us to sit down and we have to stand throughout the journey, which further drains our mental and physical energy. By the time we reach our destination, we are already exhausted and this impacts our education as we are unable to focus in class. I hope our public transport can be fixed, so the common people can have a peaceful and comfortable commute, and special arrangements can be made for student-only buses.
