Pranks gone wrong

Letter June 19, 2019
It is a pity that our youths are spending their energies on frivolous activities

KARACHI: I would like to draw the attention of the relevant authorities towards the serious problem of prank shows that are carried out across the country. People, mostly youngsters go about in public spaces playing pranks on strangers. They record the incidents and share it on their social media pages and YouTube channel to attract followers. This way they earn money through these platforms. These days, prank shows have gone quite viral in Pakistan. While some videos can be entertaining, most of them show people being exposed to public abuse. Besides, as had been the case in some incidents, if the prank goes wrong, it can risk people’s lives.

While the country is going through such a difficult time, it is a pity that our youths are spending their energies on frivolous activities. It is time our younger generation is given more responsibility and a greater role in society, so they may work towards being responsible citizens of the country.
