Public transport in Sindh

Letter June 11, 2019
Public transport in urban areas too is not any better either

KECH, BALOCHISTAN: Access to modern transportation is one of the most debated topics in present-day world. Despite the fact that many rural areas in Sindh still have to undergo a lot of development to be on a par with the cities, the need for modern transportation is urgent. It is crucially important for the prosperity of the people. The public transportation system in Sindh is very poor and many people in villages and small towns of Sindh struggle because they do not have access to public transportation. This has created a huge gap between the rural and urban populations of Sindh. The rural population not only has limited resources, but limited access to these resources as they cannot avail the opportunities present in the urban areas. While the government must work on modernising the entire province, the need for a well-connected transport system must be addressed first. People’s mobility should not be restricted.

Public transport in urban areas too is not any better either. There are few buses. People have to wait an hour or more to get a bus. And these buses are mostly overcrowded.
