A de-Islamisation programme to reverse the damage that General Zia did to the military needs to be done.
KARACHI: Saroop Ijaz’s article of June 29 titled “The war within” is superb. The question to ask is why haven’t our TV anchors, many of them self-proclaimed messiahs, ever told their viewers about the extent of the military’s obsession with religion? Why are there no talk shows or discussions on the issue of radicalisation of our armed forces and agencies? Quite clearly a de-Islamisation programme to reverse the damage that General Zia did to the military needs to be done if we are to save the country.
