Government should pay attention to the ever-increasing water shortage
KARACHI: I am a resident of KDA Flats, Block U, in Karachi and have noticed a quite a disturbing trend in our area. A slum is located nearby and the people living there have started using suction pumps to pump out ground water.
This takes up most of the groundwater, and leaves behind insignificant amounts for the residents of the apartments. We have been suffering due to a lack of water for quite a while now and the situation is showing no signs of improvement. I urge the authorities to help regulate the water supply in a proper manner.
Life is water and its need increases in the hot weather. The government should pay attention to the ever-increasing water shortage and take appropriate measures to overcome the problem.
