Afghan withdrawal

Letter June 26, 2011
Pakistan has not only lost its economy but its trust over the world and its relations with other nations

SIALKOT: This is in reference to Simbal Khan’s article titled: Afghan drawdown: Implications for Pakistan” (June 25). Pakistan should have thought ahead of time about the drawdown. In fact, Pakistan should never have indulged in the war against terrorism. Today, Pakistan has not only lost its economy, its trust over the world, its relations with Afghanistan and other nations, but has also lost its brave soldiers and commanders. We started the war against terrorism as a front line state and are ending up being a terrorist country.  We also lost our focus on the issue of Kashmir. It is now time to contemplate all these issues and tread carefully, if we want to improve and salvage our situation and our image.
