Candidates’ problems and FPSC

Letter April 30, 2019
I request the FPSC to address the concerns of the candidates in order to facilitate them in this process

HYDERABAD: The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) is one of the most reputable institutions of Pakistan. Even though it is duty-bound to ensure merit and transparency under the provisions of the Constitution of the country, many candidates still have unresolved queries. Because of this, many candidates face numerous problems. They share them on social media and put forward their demands.

Their first demand is that the FPSC should create a policy of allotting one examination centre for every student, and the tests ought to be conducted on a single date. Secondly, candidates worry about their test scores as the FPSC does not disclose their marks and the exams’ answer keys. The process of marking exams lacks transparency and creates mistrust amongst the candidates and demotivates them. Thirdly, late comers should be accommodated during the tests because many candidates are unable to reach their centres on time due to traffic jams. In addition to this, the FPSC should set up a test centre in Hyderabad district for residents of rural Sindh as travelling to Karachi is costly. I request the FPSC to address the concerns of the candidates in order to facilitate them in this process.
