Pakistan-India talks

Letter June 25, 2011
The Pakistan military, subdued lately, played to the gallery and did not interfere during these talks.

DELHI: This is in reference to your article titled “Pakistan-India dialogue: Just talks, no major breakthrough” (June 25). After a long time, talks between two countries concluded on a happy and cordial note where both sides seem to have orchestrated their scripts really well and things did not go haywire, as has happened many times in the past. Though both sides discussed contentious issues, they handled them with care during the joint statement. The Pakistan military, being subdued lately due to various embarrassments, played to the gallery and did not interfere during these talks, and it is well-advised that they do not cause obstructions in future talks during July either.
