Even though many people fast to fulfil their religious obligation, they are unaware of the benefits
TURBAT: The holy month of Ramazan is around the corner and that means most Muslims around the world will be fasting throughout the month. The month is supposed to help us spiritually as we practise patience and tolerance, fasting also helps us physically as our body drains itself of toxins and prevents health problems such as heart diseases and diabetes. Numerous medical studies have proven the benefits of fasting for 30 days consecutively, and research shows the changes our body undergoes every day of the month as we fast. Even though many people fast to fulfil their religious obligation, they are unaware of the benefits it has on our physical and emotional wellbeing. Before the month starts, we should acquaint ourselves with the advantages of fasting and ensure we benefit from it the most by eating healthy meals, instead of our usual greasy fried foods.
