If a plan is causing hardship to the mainstream population it should not be endorsed.
KARACHI: We were all saddened by the tragedy that took the life of a brother in Karachi belonging to the friendly country of Saudi Arabia. However, the administration has since blocked the main road adjacent to the Saudi Consulate, causing great hardship to all commuters.
The administration needs to set its priorities right.
The first priority should be the citizens of this country; if a plan is causing hardship to the mainstream population it should not be endorsed. Even if there are security issues, the administration should look for solutions including relocation of sensitive premises, but the aforementioned principle should be upheld in each and every case, whether it involves an MNA/MPA or even a minister’s residence. The high-ups in the government should themselves ensure that the general public is not inconvenienced; they have been elected to serve the masses, not the other way round. This principle is followed in all countries which have pride in their people; it is time we also came in this category of nations.
