Rahat Fateh Ali Khan melodious voice has touched all corners of the globe
KECH, BALOCHISTAN: The legendary singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan started his formal training in music at the age of seven under the tutelage of his uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Rahat’s melodious voice has touched all corners of the globe and he has excelled in genres besides Qawwali.
Last month, the University of Oxford announced it will award an honorary degree to the maestro at a ceremony called ‘Encaenia’, in June for his spectacular achievements in music.
It is a matter of great pride for all of Pakistan, as a dedicated master like Khan is recognised across the world. I would like to extend my best wishes to the maestro for his services. May he continue to prosper and bring laurels to the country.
