We pray for our national cricketers to repeat that monumental feat
SHIKARPUR: This year marks 27 years since Pakistan won the Cricket World Cup on 25th March 1992. The team was steered to victory under the leadership of Imran Khan, now the Prime Minister of the country, with the final match ending with a 22-run win over England, in Melbourne in the presence of some 87,000 spectators. Even after two decades since the monumental match, Pakistanis remain in awe of the team’s efforts and devotion.
The country will always pay tribute to the greatness and the sportsmanship that each and every member of the national team showed throughout the tournament. This spirit has set a precedent for the successive teams and serves as an encouragement for young cricketers. Since the 1992 World Cup, our cricket team has won numerous titles, proving time and again that they are worthy of bringing the trophy home once more.
We hope our team remains successful in this upcoming World Cup and our country is able to realise this dream of winning the trophy again. We pray for our national cricketers to repeat that monumental feat.
