Pakistan must bring change in its strategy of carving and developing its relations with other countries

LAHORE: The past few days have not just spoken of for the country’s military might but its relations and standing with other countries, even those who are referred to as friends or allies. Calls for de-escalation were a common response from across the world as a result of Indian aggression against Pakistan. However, as the US and the West openly sided with India, countries having a bilaterally strong relationship with Pakistan chose to remain silent. With that, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) stood by its decision to have the Indian external affairs minister as an honorary speaker at the OIC Summit in Abu Dhabi this week. Pakistan, despite being a member of the OIC, has refused to attend the Abu Dhabi summit with India in attendance.

Pakistan must bring change in its strategy of carving and developing its relations with other countries, which in the time of crisis either remain neutral or side with the opposing party.
