Minister for Postal Service takes initiative to bring Pakistan Post back to life

LAHORE: The initiatives taken by the Minister for Postal Service, Murad Saeed, to bring Pakistan Post back to life are commendable. The postal department has lost its name to technological advancement and other private postal services available. However, the department’s collaboration with NADRA to facilitate payment of bills and provision of Sahulat cards will hopefully help improve its revenue graph.

Although in the face of tough competition against online banking services and fastest ways of communication available, Pakistan Post needs way more than what it is currently offering to its limited consumer base. Furthermore, as the government plans to privatise 49 public-sector ventures over the next five years, it could consider placing the Pakistan Post in the list too.
