A brutal murder

Letter February 13, 2019
People of the province condemn such an inhumane act committed by a public servant and representative

HYDERABAD: February 6, 2019 was a terrible day — particularly for the people of Sindh — when a union council chairman, Raheem Shah, opened fire and killed a 35-year-old Sindhi nationalist leader, Irshad Ranjhani, in Karachi’s Bhains Colony neighbourhood. Even more shocking is why the UC chairman did not allow people to provide the injured with the medical help by taking him to a hospital.

People of the province condemn such an inhumane act committed by a public servant and representative. There have been protests against the killer across the province seeking justice for Ranjhani. Although the police have arrested the murderer, the federal government must ensure that no political clout is used to rescue the culprit and he be punished in accordance with the law.
