Pakistan is becoming a water-stressed country isn’t news
LAHORE: This is in apropos M Ziauddin’s article titled ‘Water, water, everywhere…’ published in this paper on February 9.
That Pakistan is becoming a water-stressed country isn’t news, because time and again through multiple reports the leadership of the country has been warned of the water shortage the country is already facing and is about to face in the coming years. Yet nothing substantial is being done in this regard.
Mr Ziauddin too adds his sane voice to the water threat Pakistan is currently under. In his column he not only highlights the extent of water shortage but also gives suggestions according to the Report on Water Management, Floods, Transport and Aquatic that the departments concerned should consider.
