The country’s military is the main pillar of support to Mr Maduro
SHIKARPUR: Venezuela is currently facing pressure from Western powers primarily led by American imperialists. The US wants the government of President Nicolas Madura dissolved and replaced by one to be led by Juan Guaido. America can, of course, cross all limits for achieving its interest. Hence, the state is being subjected to economic and political restrictions, a tactic the US has for long used to achieve its own political and economic interests.
It is another truth that the current US administration is walking in the footsteps of the country’s past administrations against Venezuela for regime change to create a political order in the country that favours free economic market policies. World powers have been eyeing the country that has the world’s largest oil reserves.
Undoubtedly, Western powers are quite sure about successfully achieving their aims in Venezuela too as they have done in the past by violating several countries’ sovereignty, often through the support of right-wing factions in Colombia, Argentina, Brazil and Chile. In case, the US succeeds this time around as well, Venezuela’s fate would be no different from that of several other countries.
The country’s military is the main pillar of support to Mr Maduro. The Western powers should realise the terms of international law that hold the sovereignty of a country of prime importance and not cause instability and turmoil in another country.
