Govt should either abandon it or employ efficient personnel for Safe City project
KARACHI: Islamabad’s Safe City project is anything but safe for its citizens. The programme initiated to protect citizens against terrorism and criminal activities has rather turned out to be the cause of concern among them.
From officials breaching the privacy of citizens by capturing and saving their images via surveillance cameras to failing to take timely actions when needed, the project is only a waste of resources.
The government should either abandon it or employ efficient personnel for the project who instead of violating the privacy of citizens protect them.
