LAHORE: This is in response to Kashmala Kakakhel’s article titled “Why ‘climate change’ just got real” published in this paper on January 23. The writer meticulously brings important points to notice about the climate change debate and how Pakistan should actively participate in it.
As mentioned in the article as well, we, as a developing poor country, can no longer go on blaming the rich developed countries for the catastrophes of climate change and have to take an active part in reducing global warming under 2oC globally.
Prime Minister Imran Khan took notice of the issue even in his maiden speech after returning to the corridors of power and now it’s for him to put his words into action.
