Whether it is social media or our daily life, most of the things are done with the purpose of pleasing others

RAWALPINDI: Snobbery and pretentiousness. Have these behaviours become a part of our lives without us realising it?

That is because we have forgotten to love ourselves and staying content with what we have. The whole concept is basically misunderstood and we don’t struggle to understand it, as being snobbish is just an attitude everyone happily adopts. We brag about breaking the stereotypes, but do we realise that we are actually following them one way or the other?

For example, if we buy latest model of a cell phone, it is honestly not because it pleases us but because we find pleasure in showing it off to our peers and friends, consciously or subconsciously.

Same goes for dresses and parties and sadly a lot of other things too. Whether it is social media or our daily life, most of the things are done with the purpose of pleasing others or seeking validation from them. With that, social media too is casting massive influence on our lives and how we live. It is important that we don’t let social media get the best of us and derive our intentions and actions.
