Shikarpur, once known as the Paris of Sindh, is currently facing several social and educational problems

SHIKARPUR: Shikarpur, once known as the Paris of Sindh, is currently facing several social and educational problems. The youth of Shikarpur are doping their level best to eradicate the social evils that hinder the development and progress of the city.

The Shikarpur Prestige Club (SPC) is one of the organisations of the youth that work efficiently for the progress of the city. Previously, the Shikarpur Youth Organisation proved itself to be an important platform where many of the misguided students found guidance and were helped to invest their time and energy into good social causes.

The SPC is an effective non-political organisation which has organised Shikarpur Education Expo in the city to provide a platform to the talented youth of the district. Many students and professionals actively participated in the event. A debate competition was organised on the first day of the event, a quiz competition on the second day, a drawing and art contest on the third, and a science exhibition on the fourth. The fifth day was reserved for career counselling while a book fair and the prize distribution ceremony were held on the final day.

With events like these, Shikarpur has seen a new phase of educational progress. The organisation, no doubt, has played a good role in mobilising the young here. We, the Shikarpur youth, appreciate these efforts. The government and the provincial education ministry should take note of such initiatives and assist the youth with the resources that are available.
