Power cuts have become frequent, even at unscheduled times
KARACHI: In the past few years, with the onset of winter season, electricity outages were less frequent when compared to the season of summer. Instead of multiple hours every day, power outages would take place an hour a day. However, this season, power cuts have become frequent, even at unscheduled times.
The reason to this is still unknown as the electricity providing company does not even bother to inform through a message — like it used to previously — if a breakdown occurs. Moreover, nor does the people at the call centre seem to have convincing answers to public queries. On top of that, Karachiites are also facing gas load management. As a result, people who can afford generators are also without electricity for hours. Some kind of solution is required by the provincial and federal governments both amid such a situation.
The incumbent government should look into the matter as Karachi is the commercial hub of the country.
