Police pickets

Letter June 12, 2011

ISLAMABAD: Pleas by residents of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to the Islamabad Capital Territory administration to remove unnecessary police pickets installed after recent terrorist threats seem to have fallen on deaf ears. Many of these pickets have been evacuated by the police personnel so they should be removed in any case. The huge blockers, however, are still there, creating hurdles in the flow of traffic. I often travel from 9th Avenue and, just like other citizens, am constantly subject to the hurdles caused by the pickets. I would like the city administration to take note of this.
