Real takeoff for Pakistan

Letter December 20, 2018
British Airways to resume flights to the country from June next year

In September 2008, the British Airways had suspended all its flights to Pakistan citing security concerns in the aftermath of the Marriott Hotel bombing in Islamabad that claimed more than 50 lives and injured more than 250 people.

It is a big accomplishment for Pakistan that the British Airways will resume flights to the country from June next year, as announced by the airline on December 18. It will enhance the links between the UK and Pakistan on trade and investments. Pakistan is becoming less isolated and more connected to the world. It will also give overseas Pakistanis more options to travel in.

Keep up the good work the PTI government and bring more business to Pakistan! It’s high time for other airlines like Lufthansa, Air France, SAS, KLM and Air Italia to follow suit and announce resumption of their flights to Pakistan.

This will turn out to be a real take-off for our country.
