Energy drinks

Energy drinks contain such stimulants and supplements that the consumer must be warned about beforehand

LAHORE: According to a research by the Journal of the American Heart Association, energy drinks are detrimental to health and are a leading cause of heart diseases. Overdose of caffeine — a common ingredient in such drinks — can cause high blood pressure. Moreover, other side effects include insomnia and gastrointestinal upset.

What’s worse is the consumption of these drinks by different age groups. Both among teens and adults, energy drinks are a much liked beverage now.

Energy drinks contain such stimulants and supplements that the consumer must be warned about beforehand with a precautionary label on the packaging of the product. It is yet another unhealthy trend that needs to be discouraged via tax and increased pricing.
