SHIKARPUR: It is true that Prime Minister Imran Khan had vowed to derive his government’s model from the teachings of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him), that is, to make Pakistan a state like Medina. But there is a big question mark on whether or not the promises could be fulfilled — even partially.
No doubt, PM Khan had said a lot in good faith and sense. But, his government has thus far only paid lip service to the various pledges it made, like five million houses, 10 million jobs, accountability for all as well as economic and political reforms. The model of governance practised here is to go a long way before Pakistan becomes a model state. More so as the period of our Prophet (peace be upon him) was considered the most peaceful and revolutionary era of the Islamic history.
The government of the day is faced with a lot of issues that are difficult to resolve. Uncontrolled population is a real threat today. Social issues like illiteracy, joblessness and crimes are rather getting even more complicated. All such matters are today’s most rampant and highlighted problems. Khan and his government have to overcome all these issues and then move onto working towards the government’s structure.
