Many of the world’s industries are dependent on agriculture for raw materials
KECH: Agricultural economic structures have remained one of the successful economic structures in most developing countries. Subsistence or commercial farming has remained the primary occupation of the masses in such economies. In 2006, an estimated 36 per cent of the workers across the world were employed in farming, down from 42 per cent in 1996, making it a commonly-practised source of earning a livelihood.
Many of the world’s industries are dependent on agriculture for raw materials. As agriculture includes the production and processing of food, feed, fibre and other goods by the systemic raising of domesticated plants and animals, the government must pay attention to agriculture and agricultural trade by working to increase the export share of such items from Pakistan.
