There is no mechanism whereby the Sindh Police can track the actual location and duty of police constables

KARACHI: Honourable chief justice, I admire your interests in matters of public concern, hence I would like to draw your kind attention to the following issues pertaining to the absolute misuse of power and authority by senior officials of the Sindh Police department, who allocate police constables and police vehicles for personal and private use.

A large number of Sindh Police constables have been deployed by senior officers of the Sindh Police for private and personal use. It would be correct to state that the Sindh Police is being operated as a private entity. Police constables go through intense training at the expense of taxpayers, but they are being illegally deployed for private and personal purposes.

There is no mechanism whereby the Sindh Police can track the actual location and duty of police constables. The total absence of accountability as well as the mechanism to track the deployment of constables cause injustice to the common man in Sindh.

The illegal deployment of Sindh Police constables for personal use amounts to utter looting of the manpower from the Sindh Police and a sheer violation of the Sindh Police Rules and Police Order and further violation of the Honorable Supreme Court’s order to withdraw police from VVIP duty.

As an advocate of the Honorable High Court, I believe that it is my duty to bring this important issue to your notice. I request the highest court to kindly take a suo- motu notice and order an inquiry into the aforementioned continuous illegality being committed by senior officials of the Sindh Police.
