I would ask the writer if he could specify as to the quantum of collateral damage these drones cause.
PITTSBURGH, PA, US: This is with reference to Shahzad Chaudhry’s article of June 8 titled “Let’s get real on drones”. I would ask the writer if he could please specify as to the quantum of collateral damage (civilian casualties) these drones cause. Clearly, there should be some kind of rational unified policy on drones. For instance, recently a drone attack killed a major non-state actor, Ilyas Kashmiri, and has also killed many other terrorists, so why not openly support the drones? Furthermore, shouldn’t our own military be in these areas, where the drones are operating, and hunt down the terrorists?
