The government should always keep in mind the humanitarian side of issues
KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan had promised that his government would build houses for the low-income people and now he has also announced monetary allocation for the purposes. We wait to see how this process materialises. But one cannot help saying that the prime minister had promised to build houses but so far what he has done is to deprive poor people of their livelihoods under the anti-encroachment operation in Karachi. The operation should be and must be welcomed but the government should provide people affected by encroachment removal with alternative spaces so that they continue to earn their livelihood. Everything should have a human face. The government should always keep in mind the humanitarian side of issues.
Besides, the government should take steps to curb the galloping inflation which is eating into people’s earning. So Mr Prime Minister, please do more for the common people, they have pinned much hope on you. Please do not disappoint them.
