Child brides

Early marriage also gives way to other problems, such as girls under the age of 15 are likely to die during childbirth

KECH, TURBAT: Child marriage is one of the biggest issues proving a hurdle to the development of the world. According to ICED, there are more than 50 million child brides worldwide and it’s expected to grow to 100 million over the next decade. In every country more than 40 and 70 per cent of girls are married by the age of 18.

Early marriage also gives way to other problems, such as girls under the age of 15 are likely to die during childbirth. According to Unicef, an estimate of 70,000 girls aged 15-19 die due to the lack of the presence of a skilled medical professional.

Considering the above, let’s put a stop to child and under-age marriage and let our girls attain to their potential. Educate your girl-child like you would your son.
