Education system of Pakistan

Letter October 31, 2018
Pakistan’s education system is not well ranked among many of the developing countries

LAHORE: Pakistan’s education system is not well ranked among many of the developing countries. One of the reasons is that the system is based on cramming, it only considers the retention ability or rote learning abilities of students but does not entertain or provide much room for creativity. Due to this, we are lagging behind in the race of developing innovations, inventions and making discoveries. We are producing graduates who memorise to reproduce the course content. Therefore, in addition to applying a uniform syllabus throughout the country, the authorities and the education leaders should also consider this fundamental issue and add more practical and creative work in the curriculum in order to bring about improvements in our education system.
