Young generation cannot answer simple questions about the world, the region and their own country
KARACHI: I am appalled by the poor general awareness of our young generation. They cannot answer simple questions about the world, the region and their own country. Most of them do not know what Kala Pani is, what 1857 is known for, who are the writers Manto and Ismat Chughtai? If few of them know about Manto and Ismat Chughtai, they do not know what they wrote? Most of them would stare in your face if you asked them about Goethe, Jane Austen, Virginia Wolf, George Bernard Shaw or Charles Dickens. Is our education system to be blamed for this state of affairs?
