KARACHI: The whole point of education is to develop and nurture curiosity among students that in return helps them in learning. Education is to make a man wiser by giving him the confidence to survive and face any situation. To instill morals and ethics so that one can live peacefully and let others live peacefully too.
However, that is far from what is happening today. Education has just become a means to earn a degree to be able to get a job to earn money and a better standard of living. Educational institutions too are only focused on churning out the greatest number of graduates, be the No1 in all spheres than focusing their energies on producing considerate and knowledgeable human beings.
It’s about time we prioritised knowledge over degrees and enrich our students’ cognitive thinking ability. If one is equipped with the right knowledge and skills, he/she can make money. One can be robbed of all worldly possessions but he or she cannot be robbed of the knowledge that he or she has acquired.
