ISLAMABAD: People are pleased to learn about the Naya Pakistan housing scheme. Especially, those who either have no shelter or live in slum areas of the country.
However, it is important to note that this is not the only housing scheme that a government plans to launch. It has been estimated that millions and billions had been invested in private and government housing schemes during the tenures of previous governments. But these housing schemes only benefited the rich.
Therefore, we should give credit where it’s due and commend the new PTI-led government for launching a scheme that promises to provide houses to eligible people, those who do not have the means to build a house themselves. Both transparency and fairness should be ensured throughout the process so that people without shelter can get maximum benefit from this housing scheme.
In addition, the process of the scheme should be straightforward and easy to comprehend because poor people may face difficulty while filling forms or going through the complex process.
