Neither teachers, from primary school level to university level, nor students are interested in education
KARACHI: Recently I came across an advertisement on the internet where the Urdu word Tarjuma was spelt as Tarjum’aa (with ain).
Ironically, the advertisement was placed by a well-known university of the country. What is worse is that Tarjuma is the name of one of the research journals published by the university. This shows the pathetic state of education in our country. This shows that that neither teachers, from primary school level to university level, nor students are interested in education. What both teachers and students are really interested in is earning money. This happens when badly educated teachers teach students who have no interest in acquisition of learning.
