World Mental Health Day

Letter October 10, 2018
The day is observed to spread awareness about mental disorders and their effects on people

TURBAT: Each year, World Mental Health Day is observed on October 10th, which was first observed in 1992 by the World Federation for Mental Health — a global organisation devoted to mental health with more than 150 member countries.

The day is observed to spread awareness about mental disorders and their effects on people. In addition, this event gives an opportunity to organisations working on mental health issues to talk about their work and what more needs to be done to make mental healthcare a reality for people globally.

The government as well NGOs should make sure that the day is observed everywhere in Pakistan so that the stigma around mental health can be eliminated and awareness is created.
