HYDERABAD: The World Teachers’ Day is observed in many countries including Pakistan, on 5 October every year. The teachers’ day is observed in almost all the government and private educational institutions across the country to honour the self-less service of teachers. I believe that there is no better profession than teaching because it is a teacher who after parents plays a pivotal role in the life of a student. Moreover, it is a teacher who opens up one’s mind to new thoughts, ideas and opinions while letting one tread a path of their own. In fact the role of teachers in our society cannot be underestimated. However, it is the responsibility of students to respect the teachers as they respect their parents.
Further, as teachers in private schools fare better than those in public schools the government must pay special attention towards those appointed in teaching position in public schools, as regardless of one’s devotion to their work, monetary incentives boost the morale and deliverance at work.
