The world is made up of both women and men and they both face injustices
LAHORE: It is for long we have been hearing about feminism and feminist women. These women highlight injustices being done to women in the world and are trying to get things right. This, of course, is a noble struggle for a noble cause. Considering the fact that women being physically weak, they are subjected to maltreatment the world over. They face numerous problems in mostly male-dominated societies. Both men and women should struggle for a civilised environment for women at home and in the outside world. But the world has still a long way to ensure women equality, equity and a safe environ both at home and outside of it.
But one important thing that both feminist writers and activists and men who champion women’s issues have mostly overlooked. The world is made up of both women and men and they both face injustices. But why do they focus on injustices done to women only. It seems as if only women suffer wrongs. The reality is that men too suffer wrongs, various kinds of wrongs both at home and in the outside world. Then why only women’s issues are being highlighted? Feminist women should also think about injustices being done to men? Do only women face problems and injustices? Be generous, be just. Highlight also injustices and wrong done to men. Mind you, every woman is a potential mother and man is born of a woman. Then why turn a blind eye and deaf ear to wrongs done to men? The one-way path taken by feminists is taking the easy way.
