Govt-run ambulance service

Letter October 05, 2018
Edhi and Chhipa ambulances are there in Karachi to shift patients and to hospitals

KARACHI: Ambulances are a rapid means of transport meant to cater to emergency situations. Edhi and Chhipa ambulances are there in Karachi to shift patients and to hospitals. Unfortunately there is a dearth of government- run rescue services. It is primarily the private sector which is filling in the gaps left by the government. For a huge metropolis like Karachi, a government-run ambulance service is the need of the hour. It should cover all the far-flung areas of the city while providing affordable and quality services to patients.
