The value of example

Educational authorities frequently repeat that the process of educating oneself never ends

TERULA, SPAIN: Educational authorities frequently repeat that the process of educating oneself never ends and one of the cores of this law of education is the continuing education.

This is especially necessary for educators (parents and teachers) because they have to develop themselves as individuals, parents, educators, and also often as professionals to impart education to others and to their own offspring.

Teachers educate students with their words, but above everything it is their own conduct that sets example to the young minds. Education and academic experts say that words move, but the example draw. The example and role models in the family is the footprint that remains instilled in children. The behaviour of parents is a stimulus that then directs the bahaviour of the child. They admire their teachers and parents to improve themselves as individuals.

Perhaps the most important aspect of this matter is consistency. It is essential for parents to stay consistent with what they say and what they do, as well as between what they demand from their children.

Teachers, with whom a child interacts the most after his or her parents, need to understand the complex issues the young can face if they lack proper guidance in the early stages of their life. Therefore, to raise an aware generation that is well equipped with the knowledge of the right and the wrong, it is important that parents and teachers are themselves educated and socially aware.
