Written tests for two years’ contract-based posts of Teaching Supports Associates were conducted
HYDERABAD: The written tests for two years’ contract-based posts of Teaching Supports Associates (TSA) under the project ‘Teach for Change’ were conducted by the Sindh Education Foundation across Sindh. Thousands of candidates from the province appeared in the test in August this year, in English, Science and Mathematics. However, SEF has recently announced the result in which many deserving candidates have been declared failed due to SEF’s wrong passing criteria. A paper of hundred marks further divided into two parts, major subject and optional subject, for instance, English and Science/Mathematics, respectively was given as the test. Only those candidates who secured 60 per cent or more in their major subjects and secured overall cumulative 50 per cent in both major and optional subjects have cleared their exam.
However, SEF should have made the results on the basis of candidates’ each subject’s result rather than the cumulative score of both the subjects. Because of this injustice, majority of candidates who possess good subject knowledge and have secured 60% and more in their major subjects could not attempt the optional subject properly. The Chairperson of the Sindh Education Foundation, Naheed Durani, is requested to look into the matter so that the deserving candidates who have secured 60% or more in their major subjects rather than the cumulative result can be awarded their deserved score.
