LAHORE: Recently, a video of an Indian Hindu woman being beaten for marrying a Muslim man went viral on social media, and later the same was reported in the media of both countries. This video and many other such incidents show increasing intolerance in various societies and countries. Formerly interfaith marriages were common but now free-will marriages are frowned upon and men and women who themselves chose their partners, are tortured and even killed. People are becoming increasingly rigid in their attitudes. They oppose actions that can lead to diversity and better society. This is unfortunate.
