Either you are part of the team or you are not, and are hence dispensable.
NIDERRAU, GERMANY: This is with reference to Faras Ghani’s article of June 1 titled “Afridi stumping all with his logic”.
A player has to be part of a team; if he disagrees with others, especially in public, then he is not being part of the team and this is not a good trait. Take for example Michael Ballack, who used to be the captain of Germany’s football team. He made some critical remarks about the team manager a couple of years ago and where is he now? He has not been part of the team for a long time though he is arguably one of Germany’s best players. I respect the Pakistan Cricket Board’s decision not to make him captain and we should respect Afridi’s decision to retire. The bottom line is quite simple. Either you are part of the team or you are not, and are hence dispensable.
