The decision to do away with VIP protocol at airports was implemented on 26 August
KARACHI: The decision to do away with VIP protocol at airports was implemented on 26 August 2018 by the Government of Pakistan. I believe that this is a very good decision as all the people deserve to have equal rights. The VIP protocol was usually given to politicians, legislators and journalists, whereas others had to stand in long queues before they got through the security and procedural checks.
It would be great if the decision is implemented in letter and in spirit and it stays under effective implementation, as such decisions have been taken by previous governments but they could not continue with it. The relevant ministry has announced that all passengers would be treated equally and there will be no discrimination. The ministry has also instructed the Federal Investigation Agency not to harass passengers.
