LAHORE: Being a nuclear power and being a successful economic and social power are two different things. The point is that nuclear weapons are more of a deterrence than anything. The writer seems to forget the fact that the, so-called, elite nuclear club has all the big name countries in it, as in most of them are doing well economically. It’s not the bomb that is to blame for the ills that we find ourselves in but the leadership which always creates war hysteria to get/manipulate votes.
We are a nuclear nation and no one in the world is stopping us to from pursuing economic, social and educational progress.
